The Choir

The Choir
The Fòrum Vocal Chamber Choir began its activities in Barcelona in 1994.
The choir was directed by Alfred Cañamero, Xavier Chavarria and Daniel Mestre. Since January of 2010, the choir has been directed by Xavier Sans.
The choir has worked with directors Josep Prats, Guerassim Voronkov, Francesc Bonastre, Lluís Vila, Jerzy Salvarowsky, Laszlo Heltay, David Malet and Xavier Puig.
At present, Fòrum Vocal is a group of 33 vocalists with solid musical training and vast choir experience.
Fòrum Vocal’s repertoire ranges from medieval music to music from this century, with choir programs, instrumental groups and orchestras.
Fórum Vocal has performed all over Catalonia and in Belgium, including at the inauguration of the Teatre Clavé in Tordera; the International J. S. Bach Symposium concert at the Barcelona Auditorium; the Ribermúsica cycle; Setmana de les Flors in Girona; the Clàssica als Parcs cycle and the Spring Festival by the Municipality of Barcelona; the 2001 GREC Barcelona Summer Festival; the Terra de TrobadorsFestival; the Festivals dels Enginyers at the Winterthur Auditorium; the Tiana AnticaFestival; Feliu Gasull’s The year of Dalí – An invitation to dream at the Teatre Jardí in Figueres; the Ruta del Cister Festival; and Xavier Albertí and Lluïsa Cunillé’s show at the Teatre Lliure (2007 season), El Dúo de la Africana; season 2009 in the Theater Maria Guerrero of Madrid and in the International Festival of Buenos Aires FIBA in Argentina.
Fòrum Vocal is a member of the Federació Catalana d’Entitats Corals.
