The Choir

Fòrum Vocal, Chamber Choir

The Fòrum Vocal is a collective of about forty singers with a solid musical training and extensive experience in the choral world. The choir was directed by Alfred Cañamero, Xavier Chavarria and Daniel Mestre. Xavier Sans has been in charge of its direction since 2010.

The choir has worked with conductors such as Josep Prats, Guerassim Voronkov, Francesc Bonastre, Lluís Vila, Jerzy Salvarowsky, Laszlo Heltay, David Malet, Xavier Puig I Mario Moretti.

Its repertoire ranges from medieval to contemporary music. Their choral performances include highlights like their participation in the show “El Dúo de la Africana”, a Teatre Lliure production (Butaca award 2007 for the best musical) in Barcelona, Madrid and Buenos Aires; Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo by J. Haydn with the Catalan Baroque Orchestra; Les Sept Paroles du Christ/ The Seven Last Words of Christ by Théodore Dubois; Missa Criolla by A. Ramirez; Requiem by G. Fauré; C minor Mass by W.A. Mozart in Mendrisio (Switzerland); Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini in Puerto del la Cruz (Tenerife).

The choir has been recorded by Columna Músical for the CD “Cantica Sacra”, 1000 years of sacred music.

The Fòrum Vocal is a member of the Catalan Choir Federation FCEC.
