Conductor

Xavier Sans  Fortuny has studied conducting with professors Josep Prats, Laszlo Heltay, Johann Duijck and Pierre Cao, analysis and composition with Benet Casablancas and Josep Soler, and edge with Dolors Aldea, Jerzy Artysz and Carmen Bustamante.

Has been director of the Youth Singers choir of Tarragona,  the Voxalba choir, the Sant Jordi Choral. Currently, he is  conductor invited in the Conservatori or Girona Chamber choir, the Youth Singers choir of the Orfeó Català, and deputy conductor of the Palau chamber choir, the Tarragona city choir and the Saint Esteve Viladrau choir.

He is also a professor of harmonía, counterpoint and analysis at the Conservatoire of Viladrau, and it is part of the academic staff of choral direcion courses of the Catalan federation of choirs

His experience such as a singer is centered, mostly, in the share in several professional chamber groups, the Palau de la Música chamber choir (Barcelona), Capella of St Maria's del Mar (Barcelona), Arsys-Bourgogne, Accentus, Them Éléments, Ensemble Jacques Moderne, Cheers up and Corpo Ensemble, The Xantria and The Capella Reial of Catalonia directed by Jordi Savall.
With some of these education has participated in several recordings.

Subconductor

Maria Mauri Fàbregas began her musical studies at te age of 6 at the Conservatori de Vic. She graduated on Solo Piano at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya with the Prof. Vladislav Bronevetszky. There she also studied lied with Francisco Poyato and she took voice lessons with Mireia Pintó and Enedina Lloris. Once she finished her bachelor, she was accepted to study a Master of Music with scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London). There she studied Piano Accompaniment with Pamela Lidiard and Andrew West, and Orchestral Conducting with Tim Redmond and Alice Farnham – who she assisted in the Morley College Opera production on the summer of the 2015.

Currently she is back in ESMUC studying both Choir and Orchestral Conducting with Johan Duijk and Salvador Brotons.

As a pianist, she has collaborated with several singers as Josep-Ramon Olivé, Lluís Vilamajó or Christina Koch, and with choirs as Guildhall Consort (dir. Eamonn Dougan), O Vos Omnes and Coral Canigó, among others.
She has performed in the main Catalonia music halls as L’Auditori de Barcelona, el Palau de la Música Catalana, el Gran Teatre del Liceu, l’Auditori de la Pedrera, and also in the Milton Court Concert Hall of Londres.

As a singer, she has sung with Ensemble Vocal O Vos Omnes, Fònics 2.0, The Beauty Fools, and Cor Anton Bruckner. She also takes part as the vocal soloist in the contemporary show “El nus la flor”, together with the composer and pianist Daniel Ariño, and the poet Enric Casassses.
